These are the terms that apply if you are offered and accept a place on Self-Made in 60 Days. Please read them before you apply, and again before you accept a place. You accept them by ticking the box on your acceptance form.

1. Who this agreement is with

This agreement is between you and Redfern Studios Limited, trading as Studio Self-Made, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 14885450, registered office 12 Fore Street, Chudleigh, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ13 0HX. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Studio Self-Made.

Self-Made in 60 Days is the name we deliver the Creator-Founder Accelerator under. In these terms, "the Programme" means either name, and both refer to the same thing.

The Programme is commissioned by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and funded by Quickline Communications Limited. Neither is a party to this agreement, and neither is responsible to you under it. We deliver the Programme, and we are responsible for it.

2. Your place on the programme

Your place is personal to you. You cannot transfer it to anyone else, including a co-founder or colleague.

By accepting your place, you confirm that:

You will be aged 18 to 30 on 5 October 2026

You live in South Yorkshire, meaning Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley or Doncaster

You are freelancing, running a business, or intending to start, and if you are already trading you have been doing so for no more than three years

The information in your application was accurate

If any of this turns out not to be true, we may withdraw your place. Places are funded and limited, so accurate information matters. A place given on the wrong basis is a place denied to someone else.

3. What the programme is

Self-Made in 60 Days runs from 5 October to 4 December 2026. It is a hybrid programme focused on personal branding, content creation and storytelling, comprising:

An online opening session on Monday 5 October 2026

An in-person opening day in your local area, in October. You choose one location from Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley or Doncaster

Online sessions through the middle of the Programme

An in-person mid-point content day at the Digital Media Centre, Barnsley, in November. We run this on more than one date and you attend one of them

The Final Showcase on Wednesday 2 December 2026, in person, at the Digital Media Centre, Barnsley

A final online wrap-up session on Friday 4 December 2026

Access to an online community for the duration of the Programme

There are three days you need to attend in person: your local opening day, your mid-point day at the Digital Media Centre, and the Final Showcase.

The Programme is provided to you free of charge.

4. Your commitment

We expect you to:

Attend all sessions, and tell us in advance if you cannot make one

Arrive on time and stay for the full session

Complete work between sessions

Take part constructively and let others do the same

Attendance is reported to our commissioner in aggregate. Persistent non-attendance without explanation may result in your place being withdrawn under clause 12.

Travel to in-person sessions is your responsibility and at your own cost unless we tell you otherwise in writing. If the cost of travel is a barrier to you taking part, tell us before you accept your place and we will see what we can do.

5. Recording of online sessions

We record the online sessions so that anyone who misses one can catch up. This is part of delivering the Programme rather than something we ask your permission for, so a few things follow from it, and all of them are commitments on our side.

We tell you at the start of every session that recording has begun.

You can take part with your camera off, and you never have to explain why.

Recordings are shared only within your cohort and are deleted 8 weeks after the Programme ends.

Recording for catch-up gives us no right to use the material for anything else. Any wider use needs your separate consent under clause 8.

You may not record any session yourself without our written permission.

6. What we do not promise

Please read this section carefully.

6.1 The Programme is education, training and facilitation. It is not professional, legal, financial, tax, accounting, regulatory or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for taking your own advice from a qualified adviser.

6.2 Anything discussed in sessions, in materials, or by guest speakers is general in nature and not tailored to your circumstances. You make your own commercial decisions, and you are responsible for them.

6.3 We do not guarantee any outcome, including:

Growth in revenue, customers, followers or engagement;

Securing funding, investment, grants or finance;

Media coverage, partnerships, contracts or employment;

Any particular result at the Final Showcase.

What you get out of the Programme depends on your own effort, your business, your market and factors outside anyone's control.

6.4 Guest speakers, mentors and partners express their own views. We do not endorse or take responsibility for what they say, and we do not vet the commercial merits of anything they suggest.

7. How you should behave

You agree to:

Treat other participants, facilitators, guests and venue staff with respect

Keep other participants' business information confidential if they ask you to

Follow the rules of any venue we use, including the Digital Media Centre

Behave lawfully and safely at all sessions and events

You must not:

Harass, bully, discriminate against or intimidate anyone

Attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Use the Programme or the community primarily to sell to other participants

Record any session without our written permission

Share programme materials outside the cohort

8. Photography, film and case studies

We film and photograph at in-person sessions, and we may ask you to take part in written or filmed case studies.

This only happens with your separate written consent, given through our optional Media Consent Form (issued at in-person events). You can consent to some uses and refuse others, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

Choosing not to consent has no effect at all on your place or on how you are treated on the Programme.

9. The online community

We provide an online community for the Programme, hosted on Discord.

The Community Guidelines set out at Schedule 1 to these terms govern how that space is used and form part of this agreement. Where anything in Schedule 1 conflicts with clauses 1 to 16, clauses 1 to 16 take precedence.

Discord is a separate company, and you sign up to it directly under its own terms as well as ours. You do not have to use your real name, and we would suggest you do not. Please keep anything personal or sensitive off the platform.

It is a supported space, not a monitored one. We read it during working hours, and it is not a route for urgent or crisis contact. Access ends four weeks after the Final Showcase.

10. Intellectual property

Yours stays yours. Your business, your brand, your ideas and any content you create during the Programme belong to you. We claim no rights in them.

Ours stays ours. Our curriculum, frameworks, templates, exercises, recordings and delivery materials belong to us. You may use them for your own business. You may not copy, republish, sell, teach from or otherwise commercially exploit them.

Where you give us consent under clause 8, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that material for the purposes set out in the consent form.

11. Data protection

We handle your personal data as set out in the Participant Privacy Notice for the Programme, which you are given when you apply, again at onboarding, and which is published at studioselfmade.com/self-made-60-days-privacy. Redfern Studios Limited, trading as Studio Self-Made, is the data controller. ICO registration ZC209267.

12. Leaving, and being asked to leave

12.1 You can withdraw at any time by telling us in writing. We would appreciate knowing why, but you do not have to say.

12.2 We may withdraw your place, immediately and without compensation, if you:

Breach clause 7 or the Community Guidelines;

Do not meet the eligibility criteria in clause 2;

Gave materially false information in your application;

Repeatedly fail to attend without good reason;

Behave in a way that puts the safety or wellbeing of others at risk.

12.3 Except where behaviour is serious enough to warrant immediate removal, we will raise the issue with you first and give you a fair opportunity to put it right.

12.4 If you think a decision to remove you is wrong, you can appeal in writing to hello@studioselfmade.com within 10 working days. Your appeal will be considered by whichever of us was not involved in the original decision. Where we were both involved, we will review the decision afresh together and give you our reasons in writing. If you remain unhappy, you can raise it with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council as the organisation that commissioned the Programme.

13. Changes to the programme

We may change session dates, times, locations, content or facilitators where we reasonably need to. We will give you as much notice as we can.

If the Programme is cancelled, suspended or materially changed because our commissioning or funding arrangements change, or because of events outside our reasonable control, we are not liable to you for that, but we will tell you promptly and explain your options.

14. Limitation of liability

Please read this section carefully. It sets a limit on the amount we can be required to pay you if something goes wrong.

14.1 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:

Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;

Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;

Any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

14.2 We are not liable to you for any:

Loss of profit, revenue, business or anticipated savings;

Loss of opportunity, contract or goodwill;

Loss or corruption of data;

Business interruption;

Indirect or consequential loss of any kind,

Arising from your participation in the Programme, or from any decision you make in reliance on it.

14.3 Our total liability to you in connection with the Programme, whether arising in contract, tort including negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited in aggregate to £500 (five hundred pounds).

14.4 We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of guest speakers, mentors, other participants, or venue operators.

14.5 If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

15. Safeguarding

Graeme Tidd is the named Safeguarding Lead for the Programme and is the first point of contact for any concern raised by or about a participant. You can raise something confidentially by email to graeme@studioselfmade.com.

Concerns are recorded, treated confidentially, and escalated to the relevant local authority or support service where that is the right thing to do.

16. Complaints

Email hello@studioselfmade.com. We will acknowledge within 5 working days and respond in full within 20 working days.

17. General

These terms, including Schedule 1, together with the Participant Privacy Notice, form the whole agreement between us about the Programme. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

How you accept these terms

You are not bound by these terms simply by reading this page or by applying.

If you are offered a place, your acceptance form will ask you to confirm that you have read and accept these terms, and that you meet the eligibility criteria in clause 2. You accept them at that point.

If anything here is unclear, or you would like a copy in a different format, email hello@studioselfmade.com before you accept.

Schedule 1: Community Guidelines

These guidelines form part of your Participant Terms and Conditions. Where anything below conflicts with clauses 1 to 17, those clauses take precedence.

This is your space for the duration of the Programme. It works best when it feels like a room full of people who are on your side, and when people post honestly about what they are actually stuck on rather than only the polished wins.

What this space is for

Asking questions, including the ones you think are obvious. Someone else is wondering the same thing.

Sharing what you are working on and getting honest, useful feedback.

Celebrating the wins, however small they feel to you.

Picking up resources, session materials and reminders from us.

What we ask of you

Be generous. Answer someone else's question if you know the answer.

Be honest, and be kind about it. Useful feedback is specific, not harsh.

Assume good intent. Tone is hard to read in text.

What is shared here stays here. Do not screenshot or repost anything from this space anywhere else without asking the person first.

Credit people's ideas.

What is not on

Harassment, bullying or personal attacks.

Discrimination or abuse relating to race, religion, sex, gender identity, sexuality, disability, age or any other characteristic.

Pitching, cold selling or spamming the group with promotions. Sharing what you do as part of a conversation is welcome. Treating the group as a lead list is not.

Sharing someone else's content, work or personal details without their permission.

Anything illegal, or anything that would make this an unsafe place for someone.

Promoting your work

You are all building something, and we want to hear about it. The simple test is whether you are contributing to a conversation or interrupting one.

Yes to sharing your own content, launches and wins in the channels set up for it.

Yes to collaborating, hiring each other and doing business together, where both of you want to.

No to treating the group as a customer list.

No to unsolicited sales DMs. If someone has not asked, do not sell to them.

If someone sells to you and you would rather they did not, tell them once. If it continues, tell us.

Looking after yourself online

This programme asks you to be more visible, and visibility comes with things nobody warns you about. Comparison, the pull to keep checking, and occasionally people being unpleasant for no reason.

You decide what you share and what stays private. Being visible does not mean being available.

Mute, block and report are tools, not failures. Use them.

If something online is getting to you, tell us. We would far rather know.

If you are finding things difficult, whether that is because of the Programme or anything else, speak to either of us. We will not make it awkward, and we can point you towards proper support.

What this space is not

It is not monitored around the clock. We read it during normal working hours, Monday to Friday. Please do not rely on it for anything urgent.

It is not a crisis service. If you or someone else is at immediate risk, call 999. For mental health support at any hour, Samaritans are on 116 123, free, 24 hours a day.

It is not professional advice. Anything you read here, including from us, is general. Take your own advice before acting on it.

Confidentiality

People share early ideas, numbers and problems in here. Treat it as said in confidence. Do not repeat, screenshot or forward anything outside the community, and ask first if you want to share someone's post publicly.

This is a shared expectation rather than a formal non-disclosure agreement. If an idea genuinely needs legal protection, take advice before posting it.

Who is in here

Participants from the Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster cohorts, plus Emma and Graeme (facilitators, Studio Self-Made). Guest speakers may join for specific sessions.

Nobody else. Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, the Digital Media Centre and Quickline do not have access, and we do not pass on anything posted here.

If something goes wrong

Tell Emma or Graeme. You can post it in the group if you want to, or message us privately, whichever you are more comfortable with. If you would rather not use the platform at all, email graeme@studioselfmade.com.

Graeme Tidd is the named Safeguarding Lead for the Programme and is the first point of contact for any concern raised by or about a participant. You can raise something confidentially if you would prefer.

We take it seriously, we look into it, and we come back to you. Concerns are recorded, treated confidentially, and escalated to the relevant local authority or support service where that is the right thing to do.

How we moderate

We would much rather have a quiet word than take action. In practice:

A private message from one of us, explaining what the issue is.

Removal of a post, where it needs to come down.

Removal from the community, for anything serious or anything repeated after a conversation.

Being removed from the community does not automatically mean losing your place on the Programme, and we would always talk to you first. Serious matters, such as harassment or anything unlawful, may be dealt with immediately and may be reported to the relevant authorities.

A note on Discord itself

Discord is a separate company, and you sign up to it directly, under its own terms rather than ours. You do not have to use your real name here, and honestly we would suggest you do not. A first name, your business name or a handle is fine.

Please keep anything personal or sensitive off the platform. If you want to talk to us about something difficult, email graeme@studioselfmade.com rather than posting or messaging here, so it can be handled properly and privately.

Your information here

Studio Self-Made runs this space. What you post is visible to the other participants and to us. We explain how we handle your information in our privacy notice at studioselfmade.com/self-made-60-days-privacy. Please do not post other people's personal details, and think before posting anything you would not want a wider audience to see.
