Who we are

Studio Self-Made delivers Start with £250 in partnership with Yorkshire in Business. We are joint data controllers for the information you give us on the expression of interest form, which means we share responsibility for how it is used and for looking after it.

This notice covers the expression of interest form only. If you go on to join the programme, we will provide you with more detailed information about how your data is handled at that point.

What we collect

Your name, email address and phone number

Your postcode, so we can check you are in the area we cover

Confirmation that you are 18 or over

A short description of your idea

How you heard about the programme

We do not ask anything about your health, disability, benefits or support needs on this form.

What we use it for

To contact you about the programme and have a conversation about whether it is a fit for you.

That is all. We do not sell your information, and we will not use it for marketing.

Our legal basis

Your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time.

Who sees it

The team at Studio Self-Made, and the team at Yorkshire in Business. Yorkshire in Business will make the call and handle onboarding.

We use Youform to collect and store submissions. Youform acts on our instructions and cannot use your information for its own purposes.

Youform stores form responses in Ireland, which the UK recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection. YouForm use a small number of technical suppliers based outside the UK and Europe, for example for security, email delivery and error monitoring. Where that happens, we check that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU to US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for details.

We will also share information where we are legally required to do so, or where there is a serious concern about someone's safety.

How long we keep it

If you do not go on to join the programme within six months of the date you submit the form, then deleted from Youform and all local copies.

If you do join, your information becomes part of your participant record and is kept under the retention periods set out in the participant privacy notice you will be given.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you

Ask us to correct anything that is wrong

Ask us to delete it

Ask us to restrict how we use it, in certain circumstances

Object to us using it, in certain circumstances

Ask us to transfer it to you or another organisation, in certain circumstances

Withdraw your consent at any time

Email hello@studioselfmade.com. We will respond within one month. It costs you nothing, and it makes no difference to whether you are offered a place.

Because Studio Self-Made and Yorkshire in Business are joint controllers, you can exercise these rights against either of us, and we will ensure the other acts on your behalf.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to us. Email hello@studioselfmade.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, and tell you the outcome.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time, whether or not you have raised it with us first.
